Goodmans lcd tv stuck on standby?

Just a wee update on this one.... I've discovered a couple of useful sites on the web for TV parts. These are http://www.flattvparts.co.uk/

I have a similar problem and on my TV (Goodmans - model number GTVL37W9HD). The problem seems to lie with the internal power supply (part number 6693006622). Two Power Mosfets (labelled as Q2 and Q3 on the board) have blown. The Capacitor labelled C25 looks like it may have fried itself too. On the reverse side of the power supply IC2 has done itself in, in sympathy of the other 3 components! This TV isn't even 3 years old.... come on Goodmans start using better components in your TV's. I have heard that although it's labelled as a Goodmans TV it may actually be an LG TV but who knows? How come the old CRT TV's lasted years and years but now modern LCD TV's crap themselves usually in less than 5? Stinks of poor quality parts and large profits for the manufacturers to me.

I believe your problems will be located in the power supply either one or more diodes and or capacitors will be leaking or shorted. Relatively easy to check the diodes and replace them, I would get diodes with better specifications in the power handling department as they will likely go again if you dont. Ask or check for diodes in the same family and get a higher wattage equivalent and fir those. If the capacitors have gone then again higher wattage and probably just as important a higher temerature equivalent is a good idea. All these components are pennies so its worth checking them out and replacing them as required.

i have checked with tv repair shop for the tv that i have the same problem with and it was found to be the power supply

I too have the same problem with it stuck on standby -
I have the 36" Goodmans ld3261hdfvt - I've tried everything, and searched everywhere on the net.

PLEASE HELP SOMEBODY!

I HAVE A GOODMANS 19" LCD TV WHICH IS STUCK ON STANDBY I HAVE TRIED WHAT IT SAYS IN THE TROUBLESHOOTING INFO FOR TV BUT THIS DOES NOT HELP. SO CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP
