how can i fix my ignition barrol on my bmw 318i se n reg?

my bmw will not start wen i turn the key i hat to turn the car over with a screw driver with the plastic bit with the wires on but it would not start if i did not put the key in the ignition now ive put a secondhand barrol on it wont start ther wer two green wires going to to the barrol the new on dos not have them wat can i do pleas help.
