How to fix my windshield wipers on 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier?

My wipers are stuck the middle of a windshield when I put them in a stop position. I was suggested to replace the wiper motor, but I really doubt it.. - cause other than "stop" wipers work just fine at any speed. 97 Wiper motor doesn't have gears on it, so I am really lost.
Will appreciate an answer or at least a guess about what it might be. Thank you.

You need to replace what is called a PARK switch in the wiper motor ....yes you are right that the motor is OK .....but sometimes when the wiper motor assemble the PARK switch is included ...sounds like a PARTS replacer you talked to .>!
Take the cover off and you`ll see the PARK switch
