I have no intention of posting on an open forum how to negate PC security and I hope that no one else will either as it is a recipe for even more stolen laptops.

However, if it is the Windows password that you have lost/forgotten, take the ThinkPad to a local computer shop with proof of ownership and ID and they ought to be able to help you.

However(2) if it is the hardware password, ThinkPads are designed to turn into scrap if that one gets lost. (In order to make them less attractive for thieves.)
