Gas leaks out when I press the gas pump?

I have a problem starting the lawn mower engine. I usually press the pump a couple of times and then start the engine. Now I can pump and pump again and all I see is gas coming out on the filter side and falling to the ground but the engine does not start. any idea how to fix it?
