Mend Hotpoint Heating Element Dryer

dryer to hot to touch in the back and on top of dryer?

replaced heating element on hotpoint nvl333eboww runs fine exept it's getting very hot on the back of the dryer has a light brown spot.how hot should it be ???and where is the termostate I may have to replace that next
