My Gilera vx 125cc 2001 won't start?

I just recently bought a vx. It ran perfect when i got it but i never passed my cbt so i put it in my garage until i did. i went to try and start it a week later and the elctric start won't work it sounds like it tries then nothing . we tried charging the battery and that don't seem to have done anything. The brake lights won't come on, neither do the indicators but the oil light and headlights work. Please could you tell me whats wrong with it. Thank You.
