Mend Snapper Where Spring Attach

Where does this spring attach to ?

I have an older snapper sr930 riding lawn mower . On the right side of the mower is the cutting deck height adjustment arm. Right below the arm there is a bar with a hole in it. A spring about 6 inches long about the size of a regular hot dog came off. I cannot figure out what it attaches to . can any one help me ?
