I have a hotpoint ultima wd860 which is really noisy ?

I have a hotpoint ultima wd860 1600 spin, when the machine is on spin, or at the end of a cycle it sounds liike a jack hammer. has the main bearing on the spindle worn out any ideear welcome cheers
