I was cutting the lawn yesterday when the flymo must have picked up a stone as thats how it sounded and it wouldn't turn on again after that. I could turn the central blade section easily so it hadn't 'seized up', but would not turn on. Any ideas would be really welcome as to how and if i can fix it
Hi again Richard - no the motor doesn't start up when I pressed the switch, nothing at all.

If you can hear the motor spinning but the blade does not spin then the belt has gone. If the motor does not make a noise when you press the switch start by checking the fuse

Does the motor start up when you press the switch but not move the blade? then you need a new belt/
