can you elaborate on the problem, type of keyboard etc... it is generally best to plug the keyboard in before booting up. See if that works.
If there is a problem with the connector, then most likely you will get a message when the computer is booting and goes through it's power of self test (POST).
If it is a PS2 connector, make sure you are using hte right one, as using the one ofr the mouse can cause problems. If it is a UISB keyboard, then try using a different port. Connect directly to the PC and do not go through an adapter.
