Fiat Punto Grande. 07 plate - door mechanism failed ?

i have a Fiat Punto Grande (56) plate, and my drivers door is locked / jammed shut and wont open with the key or the central locking causing me to climb in and out of the passenger door ever time i need to get in and out of my car! any suggestions?

My 06 Punto has a fault with the back drivers side door.... It wont open from the outside unless it has first been opened from the inside?!!! Any ideas???

I have had the steering motor replaced, the symtoms of this problem is when the steering wheel begins to twitch and then developes bad shakes when the car is not moving. The new motor cost £640 to replace.

I have also had a jammed seat belt mechanism, and a drivers door that wont shut. The sun visor is snapped as is the rear parcel shelf hinge, and the rear boot is filled with water.

My advice is dont buy fiat unless you are a car mechanic with spare time, or you feel sorry for you local garage and wish to keep them in work.

Any one fancy buying my car?, its a good runner "honest"

Yep i hade to have a new steering colum on my grande 1.4 sport (65 plate) . It was around 2 years old at the time and done around 13000 miles . If i was sat stationary the steering wheel would start violently shaking in my hands !. Luckly it was still under warranty so no problem getting it fixed.

the same thing happened with back passenger door, i took it 2 fiat dealer and got it fixd for free, now i have a problem with the steering colum, waiting to get that fixd. Wot a pain in the butt. Anyone else had problems with the steering?

both my back doors wont open, from the outside, this is just 1 problem that i have had with my punto!!!

hi. we had this problem on a 56 plate. it was rectified on a fiat recall {when we contacted the dealer} maybe worth checking on tinternet for recall info. dave

i have the same the problem and a mechanic mate of mine said that my car was donald ducked!!! What does this mean ?

Same has happened to my Girlfriends car when i was driving it. A mechanic mate of mine took off the door card and found the fault to be with the doors actual mechinism. New ones can be purchased from Fiat for around £55 inc VAT. Pain in the bum having to open the window to get out!

can't help but exactly the same has just happened to mine - have the door panel off etc etc... just about to take the lock unit out (once i get a torque screw driver that fits!!) hoping a lever operated by the cable or spring has come of... will reply again once i know.
