How can I fix a longitudinal crack in the keel of my ply hulled fireball?
I bought a 1980s Fireball dinghy 'as seen' that has clearly suffered a couple of years of rain penetration due to a leaky cover and neglect. Rain water found it's way out through the keel boards of the hull leaving a long crack. The marine ply appears sound otherwise. Is there a recipe - perhaps involving reinforced f.g. resins - that I could use to seal the crack? Your advice would be appreciated.
Sorry I am not able to help you with your question. I am writing because I also have a Fireball with the same issue; if you were able to fix the problem I would appreciate any suggestion you may have.
