Removing the front panel from a Kitchenaid Superba Ice Dispenser?

The refrigerator has a stainless steel door with a surface mount control panel. I have a problem with the dispenser door through which the ice is delivered. I think it's a spring - but I can't tell unless I can get the front panel off to look at the mechanism. I've seen other posts about Whirlpool panels and they indicate that the panel can be removed by accessing some screw driver slots at the bottom of the panel. I don't seen anything like that on my unit. Any suggestions on what to do to remove the front panel on my unit? Thanks.
