JVC CD Player KD G721 Help?

Basically i took out my original vw golf cd player out my car and put in my own external JVC headunit that i used in my old car,

The cd player works fine, but everytime i take the face off or switch the car off and come back later and switch the car on the cd player switches itself off and sets itself to default.

in my old car i never had problems with it, like what ever settings i had assigned to it ie. bass, treble and what ever track i left it on, when i switch it off and come back to it the next day or whatever, whenever i start the car put the face back on it would automatically come on and continue playing from where i left it and all the settings would be the same.

but now it switches off, i have switch it on, change all the settings again.

any ideas what the problem is?
