escort rs turbo starting problems, how do i fix it?

I've got a mk4 xr3i cab with rs turbo in its won't start from cold I have to bump it then wen worm will start off the key but have to keep the revs up or will just die out then wen cold won't start agen but but also every time I turn the key it fires to start but don't then turn off then turn to try agen fires to start then don't same every time unless worm runs fine just have to keep the revs up a lil bit any idears plz

hi anybody help just fitted a starter motor to my rs van and when i come to connect the terminals on it,the car starts up by itself and turns over until i take the terminals off??

with regards to starting problem wen hot it will be ignition relay almost every time had to replace it on mine after hours of searching and thinkin i kept flooding my brum brum

my s2 rs turb has a fiesta turbo engine in it and it has just started to miss on number 3 cylender i have put new plugs, leads and a coil on its still no different but when i checked the plug there was no sign of eny fuel goinig into the cylender so then a took the injector rail off and swapped them around and its still the same what could be causing it to miss?

Have you tryed unpluging the two water temperture sensers on the bottem of the inlet manifold ? As it could be one of these braking down which makes the engine think that the engines temperture is At
-41' hence your over fueling/no spark, most BMW e30 89-91 2.5-2.0L run a simlar Bosch mechanical injetion contactless distributer engine management and have the same sensers Brown and Yellow at the front of the cylinderhead which causes a miss fire on the BMW but will tickover failtlesslymiss at low revs but rev freely between mid rev range and rev limiter ,on the Rs it ticks over perfect but will miss and overboost at low Rev's unplug the brown wile engine is runnig see if this makes a diffrance for the Yellow sencer ive found that you'l need to change this becouse this needs an earth unpluging this causes engine to stall unless there is a short in your lom which can cause smiler problems which seem more complex then they are , But also have found rocker cover lose it causes a vacume leak ? there are so many posabilatys for air leaks : Round the throtall body : Boost hoses and very rarely rust or splits round the servo all of these are easy to diagnos with a tin of carbretter cleaner gentley sprayed round any of the above areaswhich if there is a vacume leak the carbretter cleaner causes engine speed to incress . Streched turbo studs can cause same problems over time .

FORGOT TO SAY if its been serviced recently check its not got too much oil in it ive seen this cause these symptoms before.

sounds like it could be an air leak probably in the breather system cvh's are common to this check the boost and breather pipes the common culprit is the breather pipe from the cam cover to the fuel metering head as the turbo oil return can rub and cause it to melt if you havent checked for this already it would be worth doing.if the idle speed or mixture adjustment screws have been tampered with this can cause overfueling and the engine will flood aftertime and stall struggle to start idle speed adj screw is on the side of throttle housing and mixture adj screw is on fuel distributor and has a tamerproof screw dont fiddle with them at home if they look tampered see a specialist.
