How do you fix a Kenmore Washer model 110 82874120, it does not spin?
This Kenmore Washer will not spin. It sounds like it is spinning but it is not. All cycles, regualr, gentle, perm press, do not spin the water out of the clothes.

Mine was doing the same thing, but if you lift the lid and place it back down it will spin. I'm ordering a lid switch kit.

If you remove the agitator following these directions, you'll see if the basket or agitator threads are stripped.
To remove the Agitator out of the basket: removed the rinse dispenser, use a pin knife to pry the agitator cap off then use a 5 16/24 wrench to unscrew the agitator screw & its washer (comes off in one greasy piece). You can lift the agitator from the basket now. Examine the basket threads and agitator threads, are they worn? Call a repair person.
mine were fine so I separated the auger (the white middle piece w/the barber-pole like wings) from the agitator (base). All to find out the small yellow cluthes in the cam drive were worn out. Now I replace these and return all parts, it should fix my problem.

Sorry not an answer just more depth to same question. Had same problem, draining but not spinning. Opened up to find a rubber disk 2" in diameter, about 1/2" thick with 3 pairs of 1/4" diameter holes to fit 6 plastic pegs. Also found 5 white plastic pegs and rubber shavings presumedly from the fore mentioned disk. It is not looking good for homestarrunner. :(

I hope you have already tried this but make sure there is no kink in the drain hose and that the washer is not pushed too close to the wall, preventing it from draining. Please don't laugh but I paid Sears $75 to find this out the hard way.

hey i have the same problem with my kenmore, it agitates,drains, just fine, but when it gets to the spin cycle you can hear it trying to spin(makes a sort of knocking noise) but doesn't spin. if you move the drum around some it will spin until the next operation but then its the same story every time.
any help would be great the machine is only 3 yrs old!
