How do I release the catch on the rear seat of my ford fiesta?

The seat catch is flimsy and breaks where it connects to the release mechanism. The outer cover plate can be lifted off by releasing the catches (visible if you push the upholstery down). Then prise out the barrel with the red clip attached. There are (should be) four lugs with holes, one of which will be probably be broken. You need to repair/replace the piece to enable reconnection to the release mechanism.
