Mend Kenmore H3 Door Unlock Pin

Door unlock?

I have a Kenmore Elite H3 and the door pin is down preventing the door from shutting but the machine thinks the pin is up. I tried unplugging to reset and cancel buttom to unlock. How do I get the pin to reset to allow the door to close?
