PENTAX OPTIO50 HELP?

I had the same problem recently and got excellent advice from Jacobs camera shop as to what the fault was. He tried releasing the shutter by tapping the camera and kept trying to take photos whilst doing it. This did not work and as the cheapest repair was £52 I thought I had nothing to loose by trying to get into the camera myself. I removed five small screws from around the casing. I couldn't open the camera but eased it slightly apart at the (empty) battery/sd card area. Tried the camera and it sounded good. Screwed back together and it is as good as new.
