Mend Chevrolet C5 Speedo Fault Repair

How can I fix a faulty C5 speedo?

I have the same 02 C5 diesel as Mike but my speedo without warning went up to 150mph then over a few days dropped slowly and is now stuck at a below zero reading. Any ideas?
