Router in table?

Have read conflicting reports on fitting a router into a home made table.
'To enable easy removal for changing cutters drop router into good fit rebated cut out and start routing'.
Other reports suggest
' screwing down the sub base on the corners to prevent possible lift'.
Who's right for safe routing?
