my hotpoint wmf540 display keeps flashing the word door and keeps bleeping?

The problem is likely with the drum motor. Even though it says door! You should replace the motor.

My Hotpoint WMF540G washing machine does this, generally a few minutes from the end of a wash cycle, when it then constantly flashes "door" and beeps. The only way I am able to resolve this is to switch of the mains power for about 1min, switch the machine back on and then press the start/pause button, when it then continues to the end of the cycle. It doesn’t happen every wash and I have no idea what is causing the error
