Loss of Pressure on EcoTec Pro 24 Vaillant boiler?

i found that with mine , if you over fill the pressure tank you will see the indicator flashing 3.2, 3.3 3.4 and so on when in heating mode, and an hour after cooling down ,all your pressure is gone, try to re fill just above the minimum mark when cold, as the pressure rises during opperating times, the level should be between 0.2 - 3.0 bar , anything above this will result in you constantly topping up and looking for leaks,

I have just had this problem and an engineer came and found the pump to be leaking.He showed me and every time the boiler fired up , water came out of the pump.New pump had to be installed.Now got new problem hence my looking at this site

whilst i would say for certain that you have a leak on the system in order to lose pressure the other possibility is that the safety valve is discharging when a certain pressure is reached.i have had to change them for that reason before.

You could buy a container of leak sealer from a diy store costs from 10-20 pounds.It needs to be added to your system via a radiator.I added mine via a towel radiator.First turn off the radiator valves then slacken a nut to drain some fluid retighten. Undo the nut on top of radiator add fluid retighten nut open valves and turn on heating to circulate for a while.

Indeed, if you are continually having to top the boiler up, there must be a leak somewhere...I hope its easy to find! Check the pipework going to the bottom of the boiler, then run your hand around the radiator valves. If no joy, there must be a leaking coupling, - probably on the manifold beneath the floor - and unfortunately you have to expose the pipework to see where it is.
