Merc Sprinter Start Error WSP?

I used sprinterstarterror.com lad called Dean. He came to me in Wolverhampton with his computers and by-passed the immobiliser and I now have no start error on the speedo. Well worth a call and he takes calls throughout the weekend.

Did you know that your ECU (CDI) contains your chassis number and when your service last was, aswell as mileage, and should you still be in warranty and be found to have a second hand ECU you will loose all warranty claims. Also something else to consider is do you really want to pay my company to recover you if and when the ECU cooks or breaks down... and then pay for me to diagnose a second hand unit, aswel as down time... cheap ECU/ CDI'S are sold cheap for a reason... guarantee or not will the company pay your recovery costs... I think Mr Storer is testament to our opinion.

Having seen first hand the grief of a fellow sprinter owner buying a second hand ecu and wsp, which resulted in the 1st one lasting 2 weeks, and the second 3 days, with recovery costs and diagnostic costs it all turned out so very expensive. Just to save a quid or 2. I bought a wsp from mercedes, and had booked williams auto diesels to programme it. It was finished on the 26th after waiting 3 days for a wsp and although they (williams) are from London, travelled to me in Gloucester. Only time will tell but as the engineer told me how to jump start my sprinter now, hopefully this will be my last post.

hi there is a company now doing these on ebay for £199 with 6 month gaurantee, ecu with wsp and 2 tranponders

Hi Mark, as with most WSP units the info gets wiped thru spiking, due to jump starting, rather than send ecu and wsp etc away, we at williamsdiesels.com reccomend when you see start error that you order a WSP UNIT STRAIGHT AWAY FROM MERCEDES, takes 3 days, first you will pay no diagnosis fee, 2nd you will cut down time. williamsdiesels.com will travel anywhere in england to programme your new WSP using the official Mercedes Benz Star Diagnostic Computer.
