How to fix my electric chair?

I have an electric recliner chair. It is 4 years old. It will recline out but will not go back to a seated position. Has the motor had it?

Hi the problem may be the cable to the handset as the motor is making the chair recline one way so its not that because the handset cable is stretched when operating it sometimes breaks the cable inside by wiggling the cable with the faulty direction pressed you can sometimes get it to work thus proving the fault
