Mend Fisher & Paykel WA950P Draining Pump Repair

Fisher & Paykel Smart Dive 9 Fresh 5.0 - keeps stopping when draining ?

I wanted to know if its worth getting my washing machine fixed or just replacing it - it goes ok until it gets to the rinse cycle and then it keeps stopping intermittently when draining the water out - it cuts in and out as it pushes the water out. Usually the first load is fine and it gets worse the more washes you do. If it gets to the spin dry it finishes fine.
Would it be a chip or the pump and how much roughly would they cost to get fixed?

The pump on the smartdrive 9 does stop & start while pumping out. About every 20 seconds it will pause briefly for 1 second. If it is doing it more than that or remaining stopped for more than 1 second then you may have a faulty pump or just something inside the pump housing on the bowl which is occasionally catching on and stopping the pump.
