The on/off button on my Zanussi washer-dryer does not depress?

The on/off button on my Zanussi WDT1085 does not stay depressed. The machine will only work if I hold the button in, the small slider will not go all the way down when the button is pushed in.

The switch mechanism could be broken.Either that or the spring inside the switch has come loose.A new switch would probably cost £10.The switch cannot be fixed due to its design.You cannot acess the internals without breaking it.
