the wires from the battery to the car have burnt out cause i tried to jump start it with a battery which was to powerfull for my car i think, just wondering if i can fix it myself instead of takin it to a garage and i have a astra 1.6 p reg
If you used a 12v battery to jump start the car, this will be perfectly ok as it doesn't matter what physical size the battery is. Somehow you've had a direct short circuit that caused the wires to burn - I guess you had them on the wrong way round. Its difficult to splice these heavy duty cables, and replacing them is the only really safe option.
