How do I fix 1986 BMW 535i: lock cylinder?

Need instructions on removing and reinstalling ignition lock cylinder or barrel on 1986 BMW 535i.

Have manual which says to insert wire into face of lock. This does not work. Any and all ideas or help appreciated!
