what kind of oil do i need for my forks?

i have a 1994 suzuki rf 600 and i need to replace some oil in one of my forks i only lost about two capfulls from one fork( it was spilled it wasnt a leak) and i dont know what kind of oil i need. and do they have to be filled to the top of the fork? and how important is it to have the exact same amount of oil in both forks? thanks would really appreciate any help i could get

You would be better getting a manual for this bike to clarify the fork weight, quantity and air gap.
general rule, older jap bikes (heavier) use about 10 weight oil. Forks always require an air gap between the top of oil and fork cap. This should be with no springs in place . Both legs should have the oil replaced at the same time. and i usually change the oil in my forks every 2 years depending on milage and storage conditions.
