Thankyou

Just in case I don't see any replies here are the basics. My FP505 consists of:
The main white power unit, a plastic bowl with a handle, a plastic lid that fits the bowl, a pusher/feeder tube that fits inside the tube in the lid, a steel blade, a liquidiser jug and lid (removable central part to lid), metal slicing plates, a metal and plastic shaft for the plates, paddle egg whisk tool, maxi blend conopy (plastic piece that fits fits at top of steel blade to increase bowl capacity for liquids - I've never used it), dough tool and a spatula.

Safety - never put your fingers down the tube in the lid, use the feeder tube The processor will not work if the bowl and lid are not fitted properly. Do not remove lid until motor has stopped. You should only be able to remove lid when control is back at "0".

Bowl fits onto base using the lugs on the base and holes in the bowl base and you need to twist it clockwise to lock into position. Hold the lid by its feed tube and lock into position against the tabs in the bowl and slot in the main base. Adjust speed using slider button which has numbered positions. Press on/off button using two fingers either side of the central bar and twist for 1 (on) or P (pulse). The bowl, lid, pusher, blase, plates and dough tool can go on the top shelf of a dishwasher

Liquidiser: remove plastic cover plate from top of main machine body to reveal locator outlet. Place jug on outlet, engaging lugs in the base slots and turn clockwise until it locks. Ensure there are no tools in the main processing bowl as the central stem will also turn when the liquidiser is in use. The main bowl and lid also have to be fitted for the liquidiser to work. Fit the lid and central filler - you can remove this central filler to add ingredients whilst it is running. Do not use with just dry ingredients - there needs to be sufficient liquid for it to work. Use in short bursts and not with various spices eg cloves, dill, cumin seeds as they effect the plastic. max capacity is 1L. For safety do not use with very hot liquids. They recommend not leaving it soaking with water in the jug.

Slicing plates - Fit main bowl to base. Use desired cutting edge uppermost, push shaft on lower side, twist slightly if necessary to engage. Locate shaft inside bowl and lock lid in position. Always feed food using pusher down feed tube, never use hands.

Twin beater: for light mixtures only eg egg whites, cream, sugar. Push in each whisk securely, lock mainn bowl into position as above, place whisk assembly onto drive shaft and ensure correctly located and that the step on the top moulding aligns with the step in the lid to the main bowl. Add lid and secure. Gently pull to remove whisks, they can be washed in warm water. Do not immerse assembly in water - wipe housing with a damp cloth for cleaning.

You may also have a egg whisk tool (I don't) - looks a bit like the blade attachment but with several holes on each side. Maximum of 6 egg whites to stiff peaks in 3.5mins apparently.

Generally:
Not suitable for grinding coffee beans or converting granulated to caster sugar.

Remove lid to add essenses and or flavourings to prevent marking the bowl.

Cord stows under the main base.

Take care handling sharp attachments!

Happy processing!

I've had mine for 18 years and still have the instructions although it' s all pretty obvious if you have seen another food processor. Let me know if you are stuck on a particular part or I can scan it to pdf at work. It's A4 size and only 8 pages.

Hi Trevor, did you ever manage to find a manual for the food processor. I am also looking for one. Is it possible that you could possibly email me a copy or let me know where I can get one. I am in Johannesburg. Thanks

I need a copy of the manual. Any chance you could scan it or take a digital photo of each of the pages?
