How do change out overhead light? Wire colors don't match up?

I removed the overhead light in my apartment and hoped to replace it with an IKEA chandalier light... but when I installed it, sparks flew and it blew a fuse. Obviously, I have no idea what I am doing. The three wires coming out of the ceiling are RED, WHITE and GREEN. The wires coming out of the new light are BLACK, WHITE and YELLOW with GREEN stripe.

Please tell me which wires to connect to one another and in what order? Thank you so much!
