Mend Ford KA 99 T Ka Not

Ford KA 99 T, Speedometer not working?

After checking the instument operates and replacing the cable and the drive pinion and double checking up to this point it all works why does my speedo still not work? Seems to be an issue with the gearbox/ diff but what?
