Rover 416 96 model immobilizer stays on?

I left my Rover standing for a few months which I had bought for a run around I was only given a key to unlock and start engine I never had akey fob for this car. When I tried to start the car after charging the battery it lights up with a bleeping noise and will not engage to start some one told me it has reverted to factory settings and has engaged the immobilizer, is there a way to diengage this and start the car??

got a Rover 414sli yr 98. After replacing the battery the immobiliser is turned ON. Need help to input the code in the driver's door, i got my 4 digit code.

i am so glad someone had the brains to write the eka code in the boot of my daughters car and under the bonnet,have a look around in yours.

If you are fortunate enough to enter your car without waking the entire neighbourhood but your dash immobilizer light stays ON and ignition won't function...Separate the fob halves..remove the battery inside..press the OPEN button to discharge any residual charge left in the fob..Replace battery..close fob halves... press CLOSE 5 or 6 times.. you will hear the immobilizer tummble into line in the door and a warm glow of success will permiate your body

hiya also you can get secondhand key fobs from ebay for pence...just press the lock button 4 times at your car and it should! work with it...

I believe the immobiliser can be deactivated using the EKA code. Clear explanation is here:-

This will cost nowt.
Used this company for refurb and was v happy.
