Mend Danfoss Valve Coming Bottom

? gas within Danfloss radiator valve ?

I have just cut the wire coming from the valve which goes down to the sensor sitting at the bottom of the rad. Did i get a whiff of gas form it? there wasa an odd smellt looked like the cut end had become frozen!!
Be interested to know if im goin to make it through the day now!
