Mend Briggs & Stratton 35 Classic Starts

Briggs & stratton 35 Classic spluttering then conking out?

It starts ok then begins to choke it sounds like it clears then chokes again with a small puff of smoke, not a lot. Then eventually slows down so much it stops altogether any ideas ?

I think this is related to water and petrol mix due to condensation build up within tank over winter period (water)....still looking for an online source on how to fix it.
