I've just been dismantling my tumble dryer for a similar problem. The drum stopping could be due to a number of faults. E.g.
Drive belt broken
Belt tensioner broken (if it has one)
Bearings gone on the drum
Motor failed
Usually the drive motor for the drum also turns the fan that blows the hot air. If the hot air is still blowing then the motor could be OK. In which case it could be drive belt, tensioners or bearings. I think the belt etc. would go before the bearings!
