Wireless networks are relatively short range - this machine can see four wireless networks - my own and three in neighbouring houses - it would be illegal for me to connect to any other than my own without permission.

If you have a wireless router in your house and a wireless card in your computer and the driver to drive it you can discover what connections are available to you using Control Panel Network Connections.

Right click on the Wireless Icon - Show Available Wireless Networks.
