interior lights octavia?

hi does anyone know how to fix the interior lighting on a 2006 octavia combi? the switch on the roof at the front windscreen had fallen off but i have since repaired that. im sure ive done it correctly as ive copied the back one but still no lights! any help would be greatly appreciated!
