Mend Heating Set Times Hot

home heating prob?

hello,i have a problem with my heating ,i have a digital box on my wall where you can set the times for the heating and hot water to come on.also it has a button you can press to make either come on for 1 hour but recently the heating will only come on when you turn on the hot water?i have asked a mate who says its most likelyt to be the two way valve?i had a new pump a while ago and new immersion heater fitted but i know this is a seperate problem any ideas anyone???

I had the same problem, turned out to be the heating motorised valve jammed half open. it was not activating the end switch attatched to it that powers up the boiler. The reason for the rads to get hot when the hot water was switched on was because it was open at the same time.
