NINTENDO DS LITE SCREEN STAYS BLANK?

MY NINTENDO DS SCREEN COMES ON SOMTIMES, THE LIGHT IS GREEN WHEN I SWITCH IT ON BUT THE SCREENS OR THE SOUND DOESNT COME ON, ALTHOUGH IT DID A COUPLE OF TIMES. WHEN I CHARGE IT THE COLOUR OF THE LIGHT IS ORANGE, IS THIS SURPOSED TO BE ORANGE?

When I turn my nintendo DS its completley blank, you can here it but the only problem is that you cant see a thing. my brother threw it off the window when I turn it on you can here the sound but its totally blank how do I fix it???
