The gas supply to the boiler is via a manifold system and 5 butane gas bottles.
When the bottles are full the boiler works fine , but after a few days /week I get the F28 fault and it goes into lock out.
I know that the manual says that this is due to insufficient gas etc. At this stage the bottles are generally around half full. Does this mean that there is insufficient pressure from the bottles? Do I need to install some kind of gas pump?
Changing the bottles everytime they get to 50% would be expensive and wasteful.
Do you have a solution please?
The engineer that installed the system has serviced the boiler and even exchanged the diverter valve but all to no avail.

Your answer is a lot more comprehensive then the Main guy at Vaillant who suggested that I keep the bottles warm!

Why are you using Butane?
Surely Propane would be more apropriate.
What you need is a couple of 47Kg bottles and a changeover valve set up.

has the engineer allowed sufficient sized pipework from the bottles to the boiler ? also check the gauze filter on the feed into the gas valve this may have some debri in it and then theres the standard working pressure check at the appliance and the burner pressure check, i would have thought that a problem like this shouldent be hard for a logical thinking engineer ....there is of course the obvious thing which is a faulty regulator unit which is playing up once the bottles loose pressure.....but he's checked this...hasent he ?
