Zanussi fa1025e?

I have a zanussi washing maching model fa1025e. It is about 5 years old. The problem appears to be in the door locking mechanism. I have had an engineer look at it and he thinks the door lock mech is not talking to the programmer, so when you turn it on, it immediately turns itself off. He has tried holding the switch down manually but it still does not work. Do I need a new switch or new program
