why do i get petrol fumes inside my vauxhall zafira?

every so often if the car window is alittle open i get a strong smell of petrol but this does not happen every day and can happen anytime i have a vauxhall zafira 1800 elegance

Check the rubber seal on filler cap, we had same problem
& it turned out to be the rubber had moved out of place, ours has been fine since

fit a new filler cap . i had the same problem with my astra & bought a new filler cap (less than a fiver ). problem solved !
