My Vauxhall Zafira cuts out?

Same thing was happening with my wifes Zafira.
After much being stuffed around by mechanics at great cost, with no results, found on anouther forum, that the air inlet butterfly valve can stick on this model of engine and is understood to be a common fault that can trip out the computer.
A can of carby cleaner later and car is running fine.

richard is spot on i got my zafira repaired today . it needed a e.g.r. valveand gasket

possibly exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) or crankshaft/ camshaft sensor.It will have to be pluged into diagnostics.

Is you Zafira a 2.2 direct injection petrol engine? If so you will need a new fuel pressure regulator. See the BBC Watchdog report from 12/1/09 for further information.
