Hotpoint Dishwasher & Waashing Machine Fault Simultaneously?

Hi, we have a Hotpoint FDW80 Dishwasher and WF630 Washing Machine. On the same day they both came up with faults Al-04 on the dishwasher and F-03 on the washing machine? Is this related, like a waste piping issue or just very bad luck??? We have tried tilting the dishwaher and it appears almost empty of any water and I understand the washing machine fault is to do with the thermostat...please help
