That switch is not hard to remove, you will have to remove a plastic tube from a clip that the wire harness for the switch comes through. ( use a mirror and you can see both) the tube will snap up, then you can bring the switch out. If you are lucky enough to find both of the screw attach parts that broke off. they can be re-attached with apoxy. If you had to remove the switch and its harness, that cannon plug in no doubt on the back side of the washer.

hope this will help someone!

Thank you so much, This was the issue I was having. I jammed the switch in the closed position after the pressure plate broke off.

Pulled the left over part of the pressure plate down and jammed something in there to mimic the top being closed. Now my washer works!!

Mine has lost the lid switch.....what do i do to mickey it? Its old & cr*ppy but its for my store.....

Other solutions presented to me were
~check your out drain hose....is it clogged, too deep in its pipe or bent
~check the pump....but didn't elaborate on how to do this
~set fire to the dinosaur (my brothers answer)

How do you fix a lid switch? The plastic holes where the screws are supposed to go in are broke. So, it's sitting there
loose. Is this an easy replacement. if so, how?

Hello,

If the washer won't even try to go (no noises) during the drain/spin mode, I would suspect the lid switch first. Check for a broken plunger or the clicking noise the switch is supposed to make when you shut your washer lid.
