my white knight dryer stopped working a few days ago,it does not go round when turnt on,this has happened a few times in the past but i have always solved this by pressing the red reset button at the back,but for some reason this does not help now when the reset button is pressed nothing happens please help,is it now time to lay my trusty white knight to rest,daisy.
empty your filter make sure it is fluff free then start the dryer and press red button

£20 fix.remove the lid and look to see if the belt is around the drum?.if not this could be the problem.if the belt is ok,start the appliance up as normal and push the drum around by hand.if it starts to rotate open the door and do the same again (push drum).if it starts and rotates each time you need to change the start capacitor on the motor.take the bottom part of the back panel off and you will see the start capacitor attached to the motor.this is the bit that needs replacing (silver tubular thing with wires attached).

Time to get rid of it, I think you might find the brushes have had it in the motor. I am sure this unit is sealed and you cannot replace the brushes so once they go its time either to say goodbye or get a new motor however it is probably cheaper in the long run to get another tumble dryer.
