faulty clock?

put a new battery in my 04 ford cmax lx a couple of weeks ago and since then every time we turn the engine off the clock loses time and has to be reset. Also when the engine is off no time shows on the clock,lm sure it was always on display before the battery was changed can anyone help as its driving me mad thanks
